Transmission fluid? or LSD fluid?

I went to the dealer around 6 months ago trying to get Tranmission fluid and LSD fluid for my 325ic (5spd), the dealer guys got me a jug (no individual orders) + 2 bottles of BMW ATF DIII.
Now i have a few things to verify with ppl here, please tell me if you can use ATF DIII in the transmission? or is the ATF DIII for the LSD??
they have actually told me but i completely forgot which is for which. since ATF DIII is for automatic Trannys, i'm just confused. Any comments would help. Thanks!

you need to look on your trans. there should be a sticker on it. Some manual transmissions did take ATF. Your rear dif, does NOT take ATF.

Rear dif should def not take ATF. If it's a LSD you may want some thing with a LSD additive. Personally I run Mobile1 75w-90 with LS additive and it's been great.
