please help, clutch wont disengage 5speed swap.

so i did the 5 speed swap over the weekend in my e30 and im having an issue. the clutch will not disengage. i cannot drive it upless im put it in first and start the car, if i let off the brake it starts to move forward. it has a very good clutch pedal feel and im stumped to what it maybe. also it gets a vibration in the tranny tunnel around 3500 4000k. also i keep hearing about this clutch pivot pin but i have no idea what it does!!! please help!!!

The clutch not disengaging will be a problem with the clutch hydraulics, or something wrong in the bell housing. The clutch disk could in backwards or you could have the wrong transmission/flywheel combination. By that I mean a single mass M20B25 flywheel and a transmission meant for an M20B27 engine. In which case you need a different throwout bearing (from a 323 I think, try a search).

The clutch pivot pin fits into the bell housing and is what the end of the clutch fork pivots on.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

It's a dual mass flywheel with an unsprung clutch disk and a transmission that has the provisions for crank sensors and I'm bolting it all behind a m20b27 on my 1987 325. I did brand new throw out bearing, pulley bearing, an almost brand new clutch and resurfaced fly wheel, and I don't think it is a hydraulic issue because the pedal was solid all throw it's travel

Does it make any difference if you rapidly pump the pedal? Are you sure that the clutch was fully bled?

The parts combination you have is compatible. So I'm thinking the pivot pin or a hudraulic problem.

Bleed the clutch with a pressure bleeder and push the pedal down a time or two while bleeding.

Even if it is the clutch it doesn't make any sense of the vibration

Stupid question, but going to ask. Did you use a clutch alignment tool when bolting down the pressure plate?

yes i did, but even if i didn't if the transmissin imput shaft whent through the friction disk and the pilot bearing wouldn't it alighn? and what exactly would the pivit pin cause it it was bad?

also i looked it up on realoem and it shows that the car should have a sprung friction disk and mine isn't

Good point, would have been a pita to get tranny on if not aligned. If pivot is worn, it shouldn't cause an issue with it always being engaged. Would be hard to put into or change gears as it wouldn't disengage. Sounded like in your description it is always engaged? You may need to pull it back off, could be something stuck between disk and clutch/flywheel.

well i was thinking if the clutch fork doesn't move as far because of the pivot pin wouldn't that cause it to not fully diengage? and there shouldn't be anything there, but idk if this is relevant but i used brakelene to clean off the flywheel and pressure plate from grease.
