    Getrag swap woes

Hello, so i have a 1990 325I cabby that the trans went out, my buddy told me he had one that would work so i went and picked it up, looked the same so i grabbed it, found out later that its from a e36, i got it to bolt on, all the main bolts worked and just the small torx that held the bottom girdle plate on did not match, but now the shifter seems like the linkage is too short? has anyone else had this issue? if i get the shifter from a e36 would that work? thanks for any help, im getting rides to work now and not sure how well that will last but i dont want to buy more parts unless i know they will fit.

Honestly you should pull the trans and install the correct 260 E30 trans. The E36 250 Getrag is not going to sit at the proper angle and really isn't worth the extra work and fabrication considering how easy an E30 trans is to source.
