Clutch problem..? Help me diagnose please.

    I have owned 1.5 years.
Clutch has always needed a strong leg; much harder to push pedal than in my other e30s. I assumed a PO had installed some sort of competition clutch.

Lately, it has been very hard to push the shift lever into gear, and the clutch pedal friction point is basically all the way on the floor.

3 years ago the PO had a very reputable shop install a UUC short shift kit, and a new master cylinder. A couple of hours ago, I installed a new slave cylinder. After new slave was in the clutch was light as feather, but then I bled it and pumped it about 300 times and it is now as firm and hard as ever, but the lever still does not want to go in gear, and the friction point is still at the floor. There is an audible click that I hear and feel when clutch gets to about 5/6 of the way towards the floor.

A few minutes ago, with car started and clutch pedal fully pressed to floor, I was trying to get the lever to go into first gear. It would not go into gear but the car was inching forward as I pushed the lever towards first with the clutch pedal all the way on the floor.

I am baffled and curious. What do you think?

I almost feel like if I could press the clutch pedal a few more inches (past the floor), then I would be able to shift.

That is either a bad clutch master cylinder or a problem inside the bell housing. I'd first replace the master cylinder with a new OE part.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The clicking from the clutch pedal pressing is coming from inside the bell housing, and the master cylinder is oem and less than 3 years old.
What sort of problem would it have inside the bell housing?

A worn out clutch disk, broken pressure plate, cracked clutch fork, or broken pivot pin are possibilities.

This, I'm betting it's to do with the fork.
