    Transmission drain plug

My drain plug is stripped out (manual), I'll be able to get it out but I'm having trouble figuring out the proper replacement plug. Realoem gives me:

    12 Screw plug M24X1,5 1 23117546876 $12.63

When I look that up, and with a google image search, I am seeing pictures of an external hex head, like here:

Mine is an internal hex and, I'm pretty sure I've always seen an internal hex on all the e30 trans I've seen.
This is apparently a special order part so I don't want to order the wrong one. Whats the deal? Does anyone know for sure? Or have a spare one to sell?

there are internal ones and external ones. you can snag one from a junkyard to make sure you get the right one, most are internal.

Either style plug works and both have been used by BMW.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
