    Tranny oil is confusing

Maybe it's cause I'm a noob. My tranny has the green label but it says ATF. It's a 91 318is(m42). Can I use swepco 201. Pelican parts said that you can. But I have no idea. Thanks in advance guys. And I've searched for hours with thousands of different answers lol

The specs on Swepco 201 resemble those for diff lubes. I would use ATF, Redline MTL, or BMW LT-2. I've been using Redline in my 318is track car for years, recently switched to LT-2, and can't discern a difference between the two.

IIRC, all g240s are ATF. Could be wrong though. But I swear I read it somewhere here

Ya from researching I've seen a lot of guys using redline ATF for the ATF manual trannies.
