    transmission mount

    hey r3vers,
i have an 89 325i in need of new transmission mounts. ive looked on forums and online stores to see whats available. to what i have found online for street/track mounts are the uuc, e21 mounts, and vorshlag 80a mounts. ive heard some negative reviews on the uuc's and nothing about the e21 or vorshlags. so my question: which to get??? i know with the e21 mount i need to drill a slightly bigger hole which isn't a problem, im just looking for quality and whats best for the street/track scenery. let me know and thanks in advance.

I've heard condor speed shop has good delrin stuff. Blunttech sell for them, also a site sponsor.

so e21 vs e36 mounts, e36 win? even if e21 mounts have a wider stud?

I've never used e21 mounts but i'm more than happy with the e36 ones. Perfect combo with condors motor mounts. My condor trans mts came off in 2 days, too hellish for me.

AKG or Powerflex make very good poly mounts. For a dual use car, use those of 75 durometer rather than 90 for reduced NVH.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

for street use the E46M3 stock mounts are a direct interchange with the original e30 mounts; uses same hardware. e21 uses different size stud and needs modification/

e46m3 transmission mounts are interchange fit for e36 m3 also.

even for HPDE track use the e46m3 stock mounts are quite good - if your car is caged then stiff poly/delrin or solid metal mounts would be ideal.
