mine slid right off without much effort, make sure to remove the snap ring.
As a note, the snap ring pliers from Harbor Freight are too small just in case anyone needs to know.1991 325i - "Scambles" The Daily Driven lightly modded.

I have never cut anything pulling a CSB. Just remove snap ring as said above, they slide right off.
If you don't have a good set of snap ring pliers, this is a good opportunity to get them.
Knipex are amazing by the looks of them, but I have not tried them.
