    Transmission Noise help

With the center console out, I can really hear the transmission. There exists a strange scratchy whining noise that is most prevalent in 2nd gear.

Strange thing is that, the noise seem to occur exclusively to 2nd and 4th gear. In 1st gear, the noise barely noticeable, and in 3rd and 5th gear, the noise is non-existent.

The noise seem to come out most strongly in 2nd gear, as well as shifting into or out of it (up or down).

    ~What I know about the tranmission~
There is a small leak from the tranny output shaft seal, and so I was afraid that perhaps I was running the car with low-fluids.
Today, before draining the fluids, I checked the fluids level and found out that it was at normal level - I then replaced it with some Amsoil ATF.
Good-news is that, shifting feels a bit smoother (placebo effect ? :D) but the noise still exists.

Any help with a possible diagnois would be great, thanks!
