    Clutch/Transmission HELP!!!

    Hey guys,

Here's the problem. 1986 325e, sitting at idle, I step on the clutch, to the floor, and can feel a pretty significant vibration (feels like the spinning of the flywheel). All gears can be shifted into and work fine, however when letting off the gas, feels almost like the brakes are dragging (engine compression?)

Only thing done recently was a fluid change to Redline GL4. I checked the level and it comes right up to the bottom of the fill plug. (I have a leaky shifter selector rod seal that I still have to change).

Is this a hydraulic issue (ie. master or slave cylinder) or is it a clutch disk problem?

Thanks for any and all help.

    Cheers.

      Didn't notice one

I didn't notice a leak (other than the shifter selector shaft seal).

If it is the master cylinder, wouldn't the brakes be affected as well? Doesn't the master cylinder run both the brakes and the clutch or is there a separate one for each?
