That sounds like a great idea!

For the rest of us (at least me) if you get a few min, just see if that would in fact work. Just to settle this once and for all...ive done more research looking into this then i care to admit.

We have a number of people on here who fab some nice products and I believe that making one to fit a g260 would not be all that hard. I for one would be a buyer if they are made, ;) and I think there are other people who are in the same predicament.

You can make one pretty trivially out of a sheet metal console with a hacksaw and a sledgehammer..

We have one of those at the house here, I still like the look of the AGK one with no shift boot because I'm a ricer.

I'm going to use the original sheetmetal console as the base for it. Will cut it and bolt it to the floor.

You are running solid (non rubber) engine/trans mounts right ?

No. I would never run those in anything.

What do you think is going to happen when your engine/trans moves around on the rubber mounts with your shift carrier immovable being bolted solid to the floor?

I'm not too worried about it. A friend is running the same type of setup on his E30 which sees hard street AND off road use. He's on stock rubber mounts and has been running this way for about a year and a half.

I have poly mounts and hard mounted shifter and haven't missed a shift yet...

I wouldn't be worried about poly mounts, they keep the power unit pretty rigid, the rubber mounts do not and that would put a lot of stress on the shifter mounts on the trans and also the shifter platform itself.

I'm not trying to change Matt's mind, just bringing the point up.

How will it put stress on the shifter mounts on the trans? I won't be using them.
