    ZF320 input shaft free play?

I was replacing the seals on my ZF 320 and noticed that the input shaft had free play... The free play is angular. Really not a lot of pure radial free play. My guess is that it is kind of necessary to have that to allow ease of assembly, but really not sure about that! Looked at the tranny schematic and the input shaft stop right after the input bearing...

Here is a video showing the free play:

It is normal? or my bearing is shot...

That looks normal. If it were tighter then the shaft wouldn't be able to spin freely. The pilot bearing will hold the shaft steady once it's installed.

Yeah, the pilot bearing will hold it, but usually, ball bearings are tighter than that. Could be a "loose fit" bearing...
