Early model trans in a late model?

    Early model trans in a late model?

    My car is a 06/1988 325 2.7L supereta and its autotrajic right now. Will a 5 speed Getrag 260 from a 1986 325 fit my car with no problems?
    And if there are problems what would they be?

      It fits, i have '83 euro trans in my '89 is

      There is a thread in this sub forum that gives all the different combos and how to make them work.

              Any M20 260 trans will fit but it would be ideal to get one that accepts the late model aluminum shift carrier. These started mid-86.
