getrag 260 reverse detent bolts on trans case

can someone explain to me what the bolts on the trans case look like that hold the reverse gear detent rod in look like? i pulled three allen head bolts out of my case to put sealent into them and now the car wont go into reverse to matter what we tried with the shifter carrier/selector rod (m50/g260)

they are the three allen head bolts that go on top and to the sides of the rear portion of the case behind the main split.

they are part number 25 but there are three of them which is something this diagram does not show. im afraid that because i pulled the one on the passenger side of the case out it somehow let go of the reverse linkage because i wasnt paying attention when i pulled it out we just happened to notice that it was jb welded into the case so we assumed that someone had broken a tab off and we used rigid rtv to reinstall it, we never took the case apart and didnt see anything through the hole for the bolt to thread in to.

now im assuming that bolt number 31 is what holds the detent shaft to the case but thats not the bolt i removed, i dont even remember seeing a hex head bolt on the outside of the case,

your going to have to split the case to fix it now as bolt 25 hold the back of the shift shaft up to the case and when it comes loose (which it did on my IX before i purchased it ,and how i got it cheap) it allows the cantilever between the shifter shafts to drop out and you wont have shifting in certain gears . in my IX's case it was in reverse when it fell out so remained stuck in reverse and the only way to fix it was spit the case to reinstall bolt 25 with red locktite . i tell people the are having sloppy shifter problem to allways check this bolt as it will cause loose shifting and is an indicator that this might be coming loose , you can tighten it if loose but not remove it .....

bolt 25 holds #1 to the top of the case and #1 supports the back of the shift shaft assemblies, the other bolt you removed might had been holding the reverse layshaft

Like previously stated, you're going to have to split the case to fix them. Number 25 screws into number 1 and number 1 is spring loaded. The other Allen holds reverse shaft in place. I don't know why you removed them as there's nothing that can be done with them unless trans case is split.

Only option is to split case or buy new trans.
