    What transmission: 87 325e

As title says. What transmission is in the 87 325e? G260? 2.7l engine.

Yes, but you need to be more specific...

The ONLY requirement an eta requires is the cast boss drilled or un-drilled for the crank reference sensors. The flywheel, output flange, and shift carrier are irreverent to the transmission itself. With this being said, what are you trying to do? A direct swap? A custom swap? For instance, I have an 87eta with a single mass flywheel(early eta w/ reference tab), late model shift carrier, and small output flange. This is not how an 87eta comes stock, but there is nothing limiting you from doing so. Slave mounting depth determines what throwout bearing and slave you use, but other than that it is straight forward.

I'm doing a direct swap into a 90 325i cabrio automatic. Using a different lsd though. And I might need a different pedal set.

Just make sure you verify the output flange size, slave depth, and shift carrier mounting. The 87 should have the later style tab up top, and you may or may not have to plug the left "old style" mounting hole. PLEASE use a shortened bolt too...

The LSD makes no difference... BUT the early and late model CSB are different so be careful when buying the drive shaft. I don't remember if the O.D. is the same on the shaft and the bearing mount is different(99% sure...), or if the drive shaft itself is different. And IIRC you just have to add the clutch pedal to the existing pedal assembly on a late model, but don't take my word on that.
