When I first bought the e30 I felt like it was tough in a good way to shift into gears and you can feel like the stick going in between teeth but now it's smooth I barely feel that I'm in second is it like that or is something wrong

Z3 1.9?

Have you refreshed any of your shift linkage bushings/washers?

How long has it been since you've bought it -> started reporting problems?

Did you replaced the trans fluid?

I bought the car in December and til then did an oil change and engine rebuild yes it's an e30 and when it's really really quiet and you press the clutch when you move around the shift knob you can hear it engage each gear
