Recently replaced my center support assembly... worked fine for about 10 days then she started shaking around at the end of 1st, all of 2nd and start of 3rd... so i went under, turns out csb was blown out again... so i ordered a new one thinking maybe i didnt tighten my shaft all the way and allowed for play... new one comes in, i replace it just like normal... two weeks pass, same thing.. its to the point where its hard to take off and go because it feels like its gonna drop out. i made sure everything was tightened, used a level to make sure she wasnt cock eyed... everything looked perfect... not sure what my problem is. Engine and trans are m50 from a 94 325i, im assuming that the shaft is from that car as well, but im not sure how to tell indefinitely... anyone have any advice before i replace it for a 3rd time? something im doing wrong? should i just look into replacing whole shaft?
Another CSB???

Is your guibo in good shape? If it is id look into it being bad u joints.
Also did you properly pre load the csb?

Guibo has been replaced. I thought the ujoints were non servicable.
CSB came preloaded into the assembly so I'm assuming it was done correctly.Comment

In almost all cases, failure of the rubber mount of the CSB will be the result of binding u-joints in the drive shaft. A new CSB may give temporary relief (usually longer than a few days), but the new CSB will soon fail. The only fix is replacement of the drive shaft with a new or rebuilt part (I like those from Drive Line Services). The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
