Quick Question: auto 325is 4.10 lsd??

Did auto's ever come with a 4.10 LSD diff?

its an 89 or 90 325is auto.

I believe all later autos came with the 4.10 diff

I think so but not 100% sure. I know for sure my 89 325i auto came with a non lsd 4.10, so I would assume the "is" came with a 4.10 LSD.

Most (if not all) '87 325i automatics had 3.73s, everything after AFAIK were 4.10. "is" designation would assume limited slip. Some non-sport 325i had LSD though. It was a separate option.

I am not asking for assumptions, Im looking for confirmation that it is possible that it actually could have came with a 4.10lsd.

lookin for someone who has a 325is auto with a 4.10 lsd stock or took one out of an auto 325is.


Im not being an ass, i know in theory an auto 'is should have an lsd 4.10. thats an assumption i want confirmatoin.

The only auto 4.10 LSD I've ever seen was in an 1987 325is

I'm 2nd owner on my '87 IS and it has a 3.73.
I'm also 2nd owner on a '90 IS which has a 4.10.

Just look at the tag on the diff and it'll tell you what it is.

Yea, I am parting out a '91 "325i" with a 4.10 LSD. But it also had "iS" side skirts, sports seats, and "iS" rear deck spoiler. I guess someone opted for all the sport options - too bad, cause I think grandma owned it!

Since the cabrios usually came with most options standard, do they have LSD as standard? From what I remember, I think they did.

90 Autos came with the 4.10 LSD if it was an iS. 91 never had an "iS" but it had a sport package that came with everything that an iS would be except the lip and the 13 button OBC. The 91 Auto's came with 4.10 LSD's. I know this because i have a 91 Auto "iS" with a 4.10 LSD
