    getrag shifting problems

Ive been having difficulty with 1st to 2nd gear when accelerating quickly in my car. If im going into 2nd around 5k or more and I try to make a quick shift (not neccessarliy yanking the lever back), it acts like it doesnt come out of 1st all the way, and your can't get it into 2nd at all, let alone any gear. Eventually after fishing with the lever it will finally go into gear. I usually have to slow down a little but this is real bad to me because in situations where I need to go like now, it could be trouble.

My thought was syncros cant handle the higher shaft speeds due to the fact that the engine revs much higher yet I have a 2.93 which puts 2nd's top speed close to 70 mph. But its been doing it at lower rpms, around 4500, 5000 too. I am running an M roadster shifter which I believe has a horrid geometry in respect to the stock lever. The angle of the selector rod is extreme. The trans has also been filled with mobil 1 atf synthetic around a year and a half ago.

Mine was doing the same, there was a massive hunk missing out of the clutch plate.

Will it shift fine 4-5th gears?

Yes, 4 and 5 are good. Sometimes if im running hard to third I have the same issue with 3rd. I had the trans out a year and a half ago for rear main seal replacement. Everything was fine then. I am pulling the motor out in a few months and putting a worked b25 in. I will be replacing the clutch and flywheel. I am just hoping that I wont have the same problem.

expect a total clutch failure in the next couple of days then.

Yea, its been doing it since like august. I dont think the clutch is going to go out. Clutch has around 50k on it. Its really only 2nd. I am swapping in a stock lever to test my theory.
