    Another vibration thread

    So my problems a little different. I have a vibration over 4k ONLY in 1st gear and full throttle. If I'm in 1st and go to that RPM slow nothing, if im in 2nd gear and go up to that RPM, nothing.

    I checked the Bentley and it doesn't cover my problem specifically

    Replaced:
    Center support bearing
    U joints don't appear shot
    Guibo was in fair shape but i have a new one i'm going to put in
    I have a 3.73LSD waiting to be put in

    Thoughts? I don't want to take my driveshaft out a 3rd time if the guibo isnt the problem, and i don't feel it is considering the shape isn't horrible

    Actually, it sounds to me like the u-joints are bad. The engine makes enough power at the high end in 1st gear to make the impending failure apparent.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Hmm thanks for the input, it's been doing it since getting the car on the road but it's much more obvious now rather then before.

      It's only a 2.93 in a i swapped car, couldn't even imagine with a 3.73

        Oh yeah, what I should have also said is that the usual diagnostic for a bad drive shaft is to accelerate briskly from a stop. If there is vibration and/or noise in the lowest gear(s) that is less or that goes away in the higher gears, the u-joints are bad. The larger amount of drive shaft torque in the lowest gears makes the problem evident.
        The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

          After bimmerfest this weekend, ive leaned it does it at 95+ MPH too so time for a drive shaft. Thanks for the help
