As title says, i put in a junkyard auto trans and torque converter and now it does nothing. no forward or reverse. any help is greatly appreciated. my guess is torque converter.

If the fluid level is correct and the filter is not clogged it is probably a broken front pump. When you install the TC you need to make sure it is fully seated, with the trans horizontal you need to lift the TC(trying to center it) as you turn and push all at the same time to get it to seat on the splines and the tabs on the front pump. You will feel it settle in steps as it mates with the parts.
The key is when putting in the trans it needs to fit flush with the engine and no gap, if you have to pull it together with the bellhousing bolts you are going to break the pump tabs.
You can probably swap the pump from the trans you pulled out. -
Yeah im not to sure whats wrong with it, since it can only be the pump or tc. when i first started it up i heard a whining noise for the tranny area. I installed a new filter kit.Comment

Well i took out my jy tranny and swapped in my old one with the jy's tranny valvr bodies and t fixed my issue untill right now. now im stuck on side of road waiting for a tow, idk what happened it was rubning fine, i saw some smoke come from tranny area, my pump took a shit?Comment
