    g260 hard shifting

I have a g260 behind my m50/52 because I wanted the overdrive, I realize the twisted linkage may cause some issues, but not like it has with mine.

Its always been notchy shifting and never felt real smooth going into gear. Also, I've gone through a brand new clutch in less than 3k miles.

Clutch master, slave, clutch/pp, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing are all new under 3k miles. It is bled, pumping the pedal makes no difference. Gear oil has been changed with no difference in shifting. Shifter bushings have also been replaced with poly ones. I am unsure of the brand of the short throw.

But, its difficult to get into gear, especially reverse. Sometimes it will take both hands for reverse.

No grinds, idle is not effected whether its in gear or not. Its just never felt right...especially after I drove an e36 5 speed the other day and saw how smooth it was made me realize how bad mine feels.

Anyway...as I said, went through a brand new LUK m20 clutch in less than 3k miles and it wasn't from abuse. Whole clutch kit was for an m20.

So...does it sound like its in the trans? The clutch release bearing is too short or something? Or like the shifter is fubared?

Just trying to figure out what I need to spend money on...I'd like to stay with a g260 for the overdrive.

Sounds like you may have more than 1 problem

clutch wearing out prematurely may be binding of the shift fork or a sticking slave cylinder; is the car an original 5 speed - i.e. Do you know if the gearbox was a working unit before installation with the 24v? - i.e. drove it and it worked fine before but not now

is your shifter potentially binding on the Guibo?
