    big guibo rubbing shifter

I just finished putting in a new driveshaft in my e30 m50 swap with a zf trans. Pulled a shaft from a 96 328i vert and noticed it was a bigger flange, so I pulled the flange off the trans and used it on mine to run the bigger shaft. I could feel very minimal space between the shifter and guibo but decided to run it anyway. Today my shifter linkage popped off and I see that my guibo has worn down from rubbing the shifter after just 1 short day. Any insight in this? Is there a way to modify the shifter to make clearance or should I just run smaller guibo?

You could bend a curve into the selector rod. But using the smaller giubo is the better solution.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
