Broke the "output cylinder" on the clutch?

part No. 14 in the picture, yeah the slave cylinder.http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...04&hg=21&fg=10

i was in a hurry today and it was getting late as i was working on the e30 and i wanted to go through the gears and see how it felt so i pushed the clutch in and of course the pedal went all the way down with no resistance and stayed there. I pulled it back and went down under the car to see the "popper" thing that pushes the clutch in had fallen out. i pushed it back in but left the car like and havent bolted it in yet. did that break the part and do i need a new one now?

When mine did that, it was the master cylinder, NOT the slave.

Oops. Not sure if it's broken but the Bentley specifically warns against this.

fack, looks like its pick n pull tomorrow morning for me... it always happens like this.

        1. getting late
        2. putting away tools
        3. lets see if it works
        4. forgot to bolt something on
        5. fucked it up

start over with more work now.

Don't be an idiot, buy new parts. The slave is less than $30.

this is a beater i dont care. if its not broke i'm not fixing it, which is why i asked if it was broken. when i do get the right E30 i will do everything right. having said that i'm buying a new one anyways.
