    Help! Strange noise from clutch

Last night I started hearing a weird sort of scraping noise from my car and this morning managed to trace it to my clutch pedal or somewhere thereabouts. When I depress the clutch, even slightly, It starts and only goes away when I let the pedal fully return. In terms of describing the sound: It's sort of a scraping/grinding sound as if there's sand in somthing... It's not loud enough to REALLY be alarming, just enough to make me worry. I can feel a little vibration in the pedal to that seems to match the sound. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Brendan

Sounds like a throwout bearing possibly.

yeah, I'd say throwout bearing. How many miles on your clutch?

Throwout bearing for sure. Cant think of anything else that would do that.

As far as I know it's the original clutch and the car has 216,000 miles on it so I suppose it's due for something to break soon... I was thinking throwout bearing too but I know very little about clutch/tranny stuff so I wanted a better opinion. Thanks guys!
