Is 2.4td gearbox bolt on?

Hello everybody?

I have M20b20 engine and i would like to find out if 2.4td gearbox fits perfectly in replacement with original getrag 240? which i have? I want to get my drivetrain well set up, and my current 3rd gear is missing.

What adjustments or mods have to be done to gearing system to get it in?

I checked/measured distances between mounting holes to the engine, and they all are identical. But how about the gearing mechanizm?

Feel free to ask me questions as i might have missed something :)

2.4td uses the M20 based M21 diesel. Same block, different rotating assembly, head, etc. Match the flywheel/clutch setup to the donor transmission, and the starter to the flywheel and all should bolt on. Depending on the shifter carrier, you may have to make some adjustment/changes there to keep everything in place. depends where you get the donor transmission from.
