Retrofit BMW E30 LSD 188 into non 188 case.

    Hi guys,

I have a 188 case laying around open diff. I am planning on retrofit a original E30 LSD into it. Can this be done? if yes what parts should be changed, and what parts do i need to fit the LSD.

    yes, it can be done.

here's a good start on what parts could be changed during the rebuild
    188 LSD rebuild

there's other info that is good to know like different carrier heights for different gear ratios.

lastly, not sure if it's an option for your but newer (less old) used z3 torsen diffs could be had for less than the cost of retro/rebuilding an old e30 188 diff.
