    325i Diff Fit the 325E?

Hey guys I found a lsd in a 90 model 325is automatic car. Will it fit in my 87e and what ratio should it be? I have read that the auto's have the 4:10 but it wasn't year specific. I was also told only the diffs from the old 5 series would fit my car.

A 4.10 is too much for your eta. Get a 2.93 LSD diff and enjoy your gas mileage. A 3.25 lsd diff from an e28 535is is an upgrade, but it is still slow. Not worth it in my opinion.

Yeah I kinda like where it is on the highway at 70mph right now too, I don't want to buzz my head off. What cars had the 2.93 lsd diff?

Your car came with a 2.93 from the factory. The 2.93 LSD was usually found in the 325eS. Honestly a 3.25 LSD is a PERFECT upgrade for an e car. This is most commonly found in the E28 so you'll need to swap your diff cover and output flanges.

I'll second the 3.25 upgrade being perfect. That and the e36 rack swap were the two single best improvements I made to my car.

Right on, I will start hunting for the 80's model 535 cars then!

I put a 3.46 in mine, and love it. I believe it came from an old 6 series. So probably a little harder to find. I wouldn't want to go any higher ratio than that on an e though.
