No reverse after DSSR install

Selector wants to go in but it kicks out or grinds 80% of the time. Every other gear slides in nicely with no effort.

Thoughts?


Edit: m20 with g260. Dssr from UUC. Also installed is urethane rear carrier bushing.

Are your motor/transmission mounts in good shape? You didn't accidentally get a twisted dssr intended for a 24v swap did you?

Brand new mounts. One of the ears was broken off the transmission so i'll check to make sure it's not sitting cockeyed after installing the drive shaft.

Dssr was perfectly straight as meant for the m20. I have heard some people talking about receiving rods that were the wrong length. Thats what troubles me is i feel it pop in but it just doesn't seem to engage enough. I'll have to find a stock selector rod and rule out that issue.

Length would only affect shift knob placement. Is the lever hitting the console when in any gear?
