Hello everybody. I have a 1988 325, it has a 2.93 Open diff. I ordered the lsd internals, I am wondering how hard it is to take the open diff out and swap in the LSD unit. From what I understand, once the open unit is out, I have to put the ring gear onto the LSD unit. But do I have to take the entire Diff case out to get the open diff out? Thanks!

you can leave the diff in the car but honestly...once you've done all the work to open the back and pulled the axle stubs/sides...all you have left is four bolts on the top and the driveshaft.
