Hey guys, new here. I'm overflow from BimmerFest, as R3v seems to be more FI oriented (I have a M20B25 and I'm not afraid to use it). Anyway, I WAS wondering if a Getrag 260 would take what I'll be putting down (I'm planning like a year in advance), but results seemed more than satisfactory. The new question is what diff, as a 4.27 or 4.10 (stock) is about right for gearing, but I believe they are both one wheel peelers. This is a DD, so welded is a no-no.

You can keep the medium case diff, but will want a limited slip. You may want to go to a numerically lower gear with a lot more power.
You can swap the diff output flanges, axles and hub flanges from a 530i stick, 535i or 540i with 94mm CV joints and not worry about breaking axles.
