85 325e manual trans leaking oil

Just noticed the other day a decent amount of trans oil under the car. Took a look and the back half is covered in oil, while check for the source of the leak, I noticed one of the M10x40 shifter plate bolts is gone. Screws into the back of the trans(#2 in the pic). Could this cause the trans to pour out oil?

yes. replce bolt and chk oil level
