stuck in reverse

Well I was about to pull out of a parking spot and I pull the transmission out of reverse and now it won't go into and gear

The shifter feels like it is in neutral but the car is stuck in reverse

It sounds like i need a new transmission
are you fucking kidding me there is no other option?I have a hammer any cheap fix
I am no where close to able to afford a new ix transmission

Like wtf...no loud breaking noise or anything
And absolutely no warning it just fucked me

check the shifter linkage, sounds like something there is broken

No it is something inside of the transmission that is the problem...it seems like a common failure(a lot of hits on the google) I am just looking to see if there are any tricks to getting it out of reverse (hitting it with a hammer)

It's just amazing that there was no warning and it happened pulling out of a parallel parking spot and there was no resulting noise just a shifter lever stuck in neutral and a transmission stuck in reverse

And yes it escalated very quickly judging this morning I had a 6k ix with no big issues and now it's probably worth less than 2k and judging that I don't have money for repairs I am most likely going to be stuck selling my car
