I bought the car for a "I" head swap job and when I was talking out the trans I noticed that it had a blue coupler on it which looks like a cheap ebay short throw. My main concern is that it almost seems to fight me to put it in every gear like something is way to tight. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

idk how to word it.. How tough should it be to get into gear? maybe? I have done builds with DSM's are other jap imports and no matter what it was never this tight to get into gear.Comment

I'd get rid of the ebay garbage and install an OEM BMW short shifter like a Z3/Z4/E60 etc.Comment

Just a stock z3 with work with no modifications? Also side note do you have much knowledge on the e30 instrument cluster?Comment
