    Clutch sound...

When i depress the clutch, it's nice and quiet, but when i let the clutch out (transmission is in neutral) there's a sound coming from the transmission. Maybe it sounds like a worn out clutch... like the clutch plate is Loose????... but the clutch/pressure plate/flywheel is brand new...

Why is it making this "loose grinding" sound.. i oiled and lubed everything up like i should...is this common??

Forgot to replace the throwout bearing huh...

Unless of course you put a lightweight flywheel in. In that case, learn to live with the chattering or keep the clutch pedal pressed when sitting in neutral.

Most old getrags sound like they have marbles rolling around in them when idling in neutral. It's nothing to be alarmed about. I can't remember what causes it, but it's related to wear on one or more of the bearings inside the tranny. I believe it is the input shaft bearing. From what I've heard, the wear is a noise issue not a reliability issue. Perhaps this is what your noticing.

yes its very annoying especially with a 7.5lb alu fly. But love the way the car sounds when it revs up so much quicker.

In all honesty I never noticed any noice coming from mine... but my E30 M30 had open headers and the windows were stuck down so I could hardly hear myself think.

mine's been doing that too, I'm certain it's a bad throwout bearing because mine makes a clunking noise, so in goes the e21 323i flywheel and a new clutch kit.
