    Pressing out diff bushing

I have access to a 20 tion press and I was wondering how I should go about pressing out the diff bushing once i get the cover off. Should I simply press on the center metal portion or do i need to line up something so that I can press on the outer ring portion?

Also, what is the exact problem people have lining up their diff gasket?

I've read that many people, including some BMW dealerships, claim that it is extremely difficult to get a good seal when putting the diff. cover back on, so difficult, in fact, that some advocate pulling the entire diff instead of just the cover.
