Tranny input shaft leak after new seal

Trying to figure out what I might have done wrong... Before reassembling my drivetrain after an M52 build/upgrade, I replaced all of the transmission seals. After a few test drives of the car following completion, my input shaft seal is leaking like a sieve. I just pulled the tranny and I don't see anything out of sorts. Did I not drive the seal in far enough or something? Looks like the flow is concentrated in that little notched area directly on the bottom side. Any insight is appreciated.

from the pics it looks like the seal is in too far, Seal wants to be flush with case.
