Early E30 Shift Rod Joint Orientation

[Oversteer]

I've recently rebuilt the shifter and installed a new shift joint. I've now got a bit of binding going into gear from a rest. On the early "offset" E30 shift rod joint, I'm thinking I may have installed incorrectly. Can anyone confirm which way the joint is installed?

Pic attached. Red line represents the shift rod (arrow being where the locking clip goes. Can anyone confirm that is correct.

I should specify that this is viewing from behind the trans, so the red arrow is pointing towards the pass side of the car.
