Which bmws had 3.25 lsd as diff for 325e swap

Hello. Like a lot of folks I'm trying to source a 3.25lsd for my chipped 87 eta. The yards I've been calling haven't been super helpful because I don't know the exact models from Bmw and the years that may have had a 3.25 lsd. Can you guys give me any models and years I can use when I'm looking? I know some 535is had them etc. Thank you v much.

E28s are 3.25, as are E36 M3's. You'll need to swap the rear cover and output flanges for both.

You can get the gears off ebay and swap in your lsd unit. Also, you'll learn a thing or two while you put together the diff.

                True but are you sure the e36 M3 diff isn't a 3.23?

It will be better/cheaper for you to find a complete diff as the carrier size in the 2.93 is different than what you need to swap gears.

I'd love a complete diff. The issue is I can't find one. I'm calling all over.
