Hi,
Recently converted my 86 325e to the 2.7i with 885 head, 1.3 motronic, etc. My differential was a 2.93 and very drive-able on the freeway with 70mph being around 3500 RPM (if i remember correctly, been awhile since I drove it).
As of yesterday, I swapped in a 4.10 LSD from an 89 325i vert auto. While it is much faster off the line, 70mph is now at 5000 RPM. This pretty much makes it useless to drive on the freeway without a fear of running it that hard constantly.
My questions: does this high of an RPM sound correct for my set up? It seems pretty high. Could my tach possibly have been wrong this whole time? I know my speedometer is off by around 4mph on the low end and about 8mph on the higher end, according to GPS speedo apps. I am running stock bottlecap wheels aswell.
