Getrag 265 differences?

I know the Getrag 265 came in E30 M3's, but did the same tranny come in other models? I believe some 5, 6 and 7 series had this transmission also. Weren't the M3 versions actually tagged as a 262?

I'm trying to find a very strong transmission for my M30 swap and want to know what cars I can source a 265 from.
