    CD009 Gearbox? Would it fit

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has had a look at fitting a Nissan 350z gearbox to the back of an M5x for an E30 swap? Theres an adapter plate that will fit a CD009 gearbox to the M57 diesel engine.... Would something like this work for an M50 engine? These gearboxes are cheap and strong. People are using them on the back of 2jz's instead of the expensive R154

    Just thinking out loud.....

    Thanks

If it will mate to a M57, it will fit any m5x engine, however it will be slanted on any petrol engined car...
Then you have to done custom driveshaft etc.

But you could also just buy the same GS6-37DZ box that i have and call it a day as well. I got mine shipped from the UK for a grand total of AU$450.

If you want a solid gearbox, grab a GS6-37BZ. It bolts up at the right angle, can use the original transmission brace with minor modifications and can use a standard e36 325i/328i auto driveshaft with no other modifications.

Its not cheap in Australia though.

Or a GS6-53DZ if you're making serious TORK.

FWIW the CD009 does not fit into an e30 without serious cutting if you don't want it to be exposed below the chassis rails- it needs about an extra inch of clearance by the time it reaches the shifter. You'll also need to shorten the shifter or buy a kit.

GS6-37/53 is the way to do it. You will just be making work for yourself otherwise.
