The g240 in my 318is is giving me a bit of a workout in first gear. First 15 mins of driving (while warming up) the shifter is real stubborn with going into first gear. I am aware that new oil should smoothen it up. I would like to know if this is early signs to gearbox failure? Is new oil just patching up an inevitable downfall issue? Or is this just a sign of overused gearbox oil, and new oil will freshen it up entirely?
