    Clutch problems?

    hey guys, I've been having some problems somewhere in my driveline and I think I have narrowed it down to the clutch. The problem is when driving or reving the engine, I get a pretty bad vibration that shakes the car.

    When I am driving in any gear at the range from about 2600-3300 rpm, the car vibrates pretty badly, but if I push down on the clutch it goes away, of If I shift before that point, everything seems fine. If I do take it to the point where it vibrates, it makes some pretty bad vibrating noises (sorry I cant describe it better than this). I've also been noticing that it vibrates the car a little at idle.

    I've looked at the CSB, guibo, and checked all bolts and everything looks fine, so this makes me think that its the clutch. I havnt done anything to the drive shaft before this happend and it is balanced, so I'm pretty sure its not that either.

    Anyone ever experience anything like this or have an idea whats going on before I spend the time dropping my transmission to check the clutch?

    BTW the clutch is just about a year old and I drive it fairly conservatively most of the time.

      Could be balance. Does the vibration match the revs?

        yeah, the vibration occurs at the same small range in RPM in every gear. Just noticed that it does this wether the clutch is in or out, as well as in gear or not. Runs perfectly smooth the rest of the time (below and above that 3000rpm area).

          Vibration at low rpm while stopped or under load, in gear or out, clutch engaged or disengaged, correct?
          Motor mounts, perhaps.

                Maybe you didn't torque the pressure plate enough and it's slowly loosening...

                  Most clutch problems will get worse as the rpm increases rather than happening ove a narrow rpm range. This sounds more like an engine problem or a problem with the motor or transmission mounts.
                  The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

                    this may sound crazy, but make sure you don't have a missing blade on the engine fan, will send harmonics thru entire drivetrain.
