    Flywheel and Clutch Question

    hey,
I am replacing my engine do to a bad ring in #6. My dad wont let me put in a bigger engine sooooo i was wondering if i could use an "i" flywheel instead of using my stock dual mass. If i did use an i flywheel would I use and "i" clutch too? Im just looking for an easy way to get rid of my heavy flywheel without spending $500 on an aluminum one.

    Thanks

just take ure flywheel to a machine shop and have them take material off of it, which is pretty cheap, and u can get alot of weight off of it, and then reinstall with a new clutch kit. voila lightweight flywheel.

btw theres alot of talk that some etas have single mass and many i's have dual mass flywheels. i hear the differences are like 4 lbs between the two. but search it, i don't really know, im just hearsaying.

You can't use an "i" flywheel in your eta because the ign reference sensors get its signal from the Etas flywheel .

But yes wether you have a dual mass or a single mass you can take it to your local redneck (domestic) machine shop and have them lighten the hell out of it .
Should be like no more than $60 to have this done .
