Easier to control a slide, easier to put the power down exiting a corner, and most of all, easier to control slip-angle. : )

    (s) cars all should have limited slip diffs. There have been a lot of swaps and different ratios installed over the years. Get your ass under your car and look at the tab. I almost bought a 325e a few years back and it had a 3.25 LSD. Proving we know what should be there, but its not always the case.

well that kind of a dispute, 3.73 LSD doing better in a straight line. Jordan (old member on here) had a print out showing about a 0.1 second gain or smth.

-There's supposed to be an online calculator/equation for you to calculate what a new top speed would be... someone chime in. Remember though that aerodymanics yada yada play a role as well.

    alright, thanks for the info.

if i just get the 3.73 lsd it should give me better acceleration over the open diff right?

cause i do like my 145-150 top speed.

if i go with the 4.10 how drastic is the top speed difference?

Yes "S" designates limited slip diff.

Your Vert has an open 3.73 differential stock.

ok i have a newb question:
the e30's with limited slip have an s (325is)?

I have an 88 325iC, pretty sure it's an open diff. what is the stock ratio on it?

also, i was thinking of going to a lower ratio if i swap. my thinking is that it would make 1st and 2nd little more useful and lower my highway rpm's.
does it work out that way or is it more like 1st stays just as short but 2nd and 3rd are slower?
