It is a pain, and it cannot be done with basic tools. You also need to know HOW to do it, and it's NOT in the Bentley. The parts are available though, so that won't be an issue.

I need to find out what it takes to install it, if it's not too big of pain and can be done with basic tools i'll order it in a few months.

Helical LSDs are pretty badass. Especially on FWD cars (a la Type-R, Spec-V).

You also need new bearings and shims for the carrier, and I'm not sure if they're available.

that is the beauty of the quaife.

It is infinitely variable, torque gets split proportionately between the wheels, the larger proportion goes to the wheel with the most grip (or that can apply the most torque to the ground).
They are also often call TORSEN diffs, for TORque SENsing.

For $400 brand new, it's worth a go really!!!
