    trans install

    alright im all ready to slap this thing back in
    i have made a couple attempts but so far no luck
    ive gotten it in but (as far as i can figure) havent not been able to get the splines to line up

    the tranny will get about an inch away from the rear of the engine but i cant get it to go any farther

    any tips?

    When I just put in my tranny this last weekend I had to lift up the back by hand and just shove it in. You can check to see if you are in the splines by rotating the output shaft with it in gear. I sucked the rest in with the bolts. Definately have a friend help and get the tranny into position with a floor jack.

        On a guess that this is a manual transmission, did you assemble the clutch with an alignment tool holding the clutch disk centered on the pilot bearing? If not you have to do that before the trying to install the transmission.
