Just bought an 89 325i 5 speed. Found the tranny to be leaking so my mechanic pulled it to replace the seals. Put in a JB racing LTW flywheel, new clutch and started to put in the new pilot bearing only to find it doesn't fit. The inside of the bearing is to small to fit over the output shaft. Curious if anybody knows if the tranny was different for any e30 model year. Parts are all correct, except maybe the tranny. Sound familiar to anyone?

The transmissions for the M20 engined E30's are all the same (Getrag 260). If the pilot bearing is too small you have the wrong part.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
