    guibo?

did guibo break?? i have an 87 es..i was pulling out in traffic, went to shift into second and shifted a little hard..went to power through second and my revs redline and my spedo jumps to like 80-90..i hear something clanking down there..its dark so i looked under there and nothing was hanging..my car still rolls but very very slowly..could this be my guibo?

I dont think so, your clutch belt is the culprit. shifting hard with an old clutch belt will lead to this disaster. the car is relying on the backup belt which is a lot smaller and only lets you move so fast.

you may have smoked a half shaft/ cv joint. and now you are on to grenading the differential. Shed some light on the subject by picking up a batter-powered-flashlight.

Jack up one rear corner of the car and try spinning the wheel/tire. (ebrake off)

        Report back.

What the hell is a clutch belt?? Your part number doesn't work.

Definately diff, shaft, or CV. If the speedo revved up then it's nothing in the tranny or clutch.
